Thats right WE BACK! The last time I posted was February 5th, which feels almost as far away as the tweet above from @Pharrellhat . A lot of great music has come out since then and I’ve been periodically updating my Coffee Break Playlist on Soundcloud but I miss our coffee breaks together. So please forgive my absence because I’m happily taking over the post of your favorite music barista once again, and I promise I won’t leave you twice.
So…. How’ve you been?
Spring has sprung and I’ve reworked the blog a bit to accommodate the change in season. I will no longer be posting in a strictly Dark, Medium, and Light roast format; so if it works out that way consider yourself lucky and go play the lottery. Instead I’m going for a more organic feel: Just the best 3 songs I’ve found for the week presented to you in an informative and easy to consume format (like an environmentally conscious Keurig). I know, I missed us too.

Justice – Genesis
What better way to start things off than with a song named “Genesis” from the Prince Oberyn of the French house elite. Justice has been rather quiet since the release of their live album Access All Arenas in 2013 and playing the Pemberton Music Festival last year, but talks of a 3rd studio album have been confirmed and it’s only a matter of time until we’re all pulling out our leather jackets again. In the meantime, throw some headphones on and I double dog dare you NOT to think of Godzilla in a flower crown.

Beat Connection – Palace Garden, 4am

If I could describe the sound of a mid-summer night’e eve & The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe set in Kings Landing; it would be this song. Seattle quartet Beat Connection released this one in 2012 but it’s a perfect compliment to a warm night out on the town. If you happen to be in one of these lucky cities, or are attending Lollapalooza, you will have the privilege of catching these guys live (I’m jealous).

Total Giovanni – Human Animal

The crazy love child between The Talking Heads – Once in a lifetime and Lionel Richie’s – All Night Long; Total Giovanni’s ‘Human Animal’ is an incredibly catchy soundtrack to cool just waiting to be discovered. Total Giovanni as a band is an anomaly best left a mystery. The five Aussie party people are making quite the name for themselves down under; landing somewhere between Empire of the Sune & the Jersey Shore (I know, didn’t see that coming, did you?) Spike Punch, Vincenzo D (aka Frankie Topaz), Shidi Amin (aka Sideboard Ford), Cavallo Nero (aka Hornelle Equinox) and Jingles (aka Pistachio Buttercup) gave this description from their Facebook page and it pretty much says it all: “Earning notoriety from their visually unique and highly energetic live shows Total Giovanni create dance music to enable collective psychic liberation” PSYCHIC LIBERATION!!!!
Thats it from me this week, see you all next week. Be sure to visit my soundcloud page Ad Ease Gentlemen for the collective “Coffee Break Playlist” updated weekly. Enjoy!
